Story
The deepening stretch of Act II of 'The Cartographer of Arkhe' — 'The Crossing'. The cartographer now learns to bind the past to the present (Present Perfect), remembers an older self (used to / would), weighs possibilities and wishes (conditionals, wish), and at last sees the threads that bind: the one who waited (relative clauses), the words that were spoken (passive), the voices reported (reported speech). B1 closes here — the cartographer unites past and present on a single map and is ready to cross into deeper waters.
