Story

Act III of 'The Cartographer of Arkhe' — the threshold of 'The Depth'. The cartographer descends into the layers of time: hearing how long an action has been going on (have been -ing), remembering what had been unfolding up to a past moment (had been -ing), and telling the finished from the ongoing (done ↔ doing). Time is no longer a straight line but a layered ocean; the cartographer learns to read the currents beneath the surface.
